Trolls Fall to Crimson Wave

The Trolls needed a win to keep hopes of post-season play alive, but could not get the job done against Calumet College of St. Joseph (Whiting, IN).  The team fell behind 3-0 in the first half. They got on the board in the second half, but the Crimson Wave added another two goals for the 5-1 final. Trinity is now 3-12-1 overall and 1-8 in the CCAC.

Four minutes into the game the Trolls were in a deficit when Calumet-St. Joseph scored their first goal. The gap only got larger when the Crimson Wave scored again in the 20th and 26th minutes. Trinity was had five shot attempts, but trailed 3-0 at the half.

The Trolls got on the board in the 52nd minute when Alejandro Sotelo scored on a penalty kick. The team played in that 3-1 gap until the 78th minute when Calumet-St. Joseph scored again. The Crimson Wave went on to add one more goal in the 85th minute to bring the final to 5-1.

Trinity had a total of 13 shots for the game and Calumet-St. Joseph had 21. Mathis Muller was in the goal with eight saves.

The team will play again at home on October 28 against Saint Xavier University at 2:30 pm.
