Trolls Defeated by Trinity International

Looking to improve their conference standing, the Trolls hosted Trinity International University (Deerfield, Illinois) in a home contest.  The teams fought through 90 minute of play, but in the end Trinity came up one goal short with a 3-2 loss.  After trailing 1-0 at the half, the Trolls scored twice in the second period to take the lead. However the Trojans came back with the final two goals to hand the Trolls the loss. Trinity is 3-11-1 for the season and 1-7 in the CCAC.

The Trojans were the first team on the board when they scored in the 13th minute. Trinity logged six shots for half, but could not get on the board in the period.

The Trolls struck early in the second period and found the net two minutes into play. Alejandro Sotelo was the goal scorer on an assist from Gabriel Soler.   Nine minutes later Sotelo put the Trolls ahead when he scored again.

Trinity’s lead did not last long when the Trojans converted on a corner kick to make it a 2-2 game. Then in the 72nd minute Trinity International got another shot into the goal to take the lead. The Trolls pushed to get on the board again, but did not find that goal.

For the game the Trolls had 12 shots and Trinity International had 13. Mathis Muller was in the goal with five saves.
