Trinity Plays in CCAC Championship

The Trolls competed in the CCAC Championships on the Dubsdread course at Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont, Illinois.  Weather played a major factor in the scores and results as the golfers dealt with rainy and wet conditions on both days. Rain cut the 36 holes scheduled for the first day of competition to 18 holes, after which the Trolls were in ninth place of 11 teams with a total of 325. The players played through rain in their second day and, after posting a 346 team score, the Trolls ended in tenth place overall.  

Nate Kamp was the team’s low scorer for the tournament. On day one he shot a 77, which included a hole-in-one on No. 2, a 161 yard par three. He ended the day tied for 21st of 56 golfers.  He shot an 83 in his second round and dropped nine places to finish in a tie for 30th.

Pete Vos was consistent from day to day with an 80 and 81. After the first 18 and was in a tie for 34th and he moved up two places after the second round to finish in 32nd place.

Both Steven Massey and Jim Vos recorded an 84 and were in tied for 44th place after Monday’s round. They both dropped places in the second round. Massey recorded an 88 on day two and tied for 46th place. J. Vos fell seven spots with a 94 on Tuesday for a 51st place finish.

The final golfer for the team was Mark Schaaf who was in 53rd place with a 96 after day one and in 55th place at the end of the tournament with a 107 in the second round.
