Trolls Participate in the NCCAA Region Tournament

The men’s golf team participated in the NCCAA Region Tournament at Trappers Turn Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.  Five region teams competed in the two-day tournament for the right to advance to the NCCAA National Championship. After the first day of competition the Trolls were in fourth place with a team total of 329. They were not able to improve that position after the second round and finished in fourth place with a two-day team total of 669.

Steven Massey led the Trolls through the first 18 holes and was in a tie for third place of 25 golfers. He finished the round with a 77 and was four strokes out of first place.  He shot an 80 on the second day, but maintained his position to finish in a third place tie. He was the top golfer not from the winning team.

Pete Vos recorded an 82 in his first 18 holes and was in a tie for eighth place. Improving by one stroke in the second round, he ended with a two-day total of 163 and moved up one place to a tie for seventh.

Dan Vos and Nate Kamp each had two-day totals of 177 and were tied for 19th place. Jim Vos finished with an 84 and a 94 to take 21st place.
