Troll Take on Blackthorn

The Trolls took on the course at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana in the Bethel College Pilot Invitational.  Due to impending weather conditions the teams played 27 holes on the first day and finished up their second round on Saturday. After the first round the Trolls were in a tie for fifth place of 13 teams with a score of 311. They lost some ground by the end of the tournament and finished in eighth place. Overall they had a 639 two-day team total.

Steven Massey led the team and finished in a tie for 11th place of the 67 golfers. He held his position from day to day. He shot a three-over par 75 in the first round and a 78 in his second round.

Nate Kamp was only one stroke back from Massey after the first round and in a tie for 14th place. However he dropped to a 29th place tie after posting an 83 in the second 18.
Peter Vos came in with scores of 82 and 83 to end in a tie for 42nd place. Jim Vos was in the top 25 after the first round with a 78, but added 10 strokes to his score in the second round for a total of 166 and a 45th place finish. The team’s final golfer was Matt Dail who took 57th place with an 89 and 84.

The team will play again on April 16 in the Elmhurst College Invitational.
