Trolls Play at White Hawk

The Trolls participated in the Purdue University-Northwest Mike Lalaeff Memorial Invite at White Hawk Country Club in Crown Point, Indiana.  Through the 36-hole event the Trolls competed against seven other teams and had to endure some rainy conditions. After the first day the team was in the middle of the pack in fourth place with a team score of 322. They lost ground on the second day and ended in sixth place of the eight teams with a team total of 646.

Leading the team was Pete Vos with a two-day total score of 159. After the first 18 holes he was in a tie for 22nd place with an 81. He came back the next day to shoot a 78 and moved up to 14th place tie of the 42 golfers.

Nate Kamp had the team’s low round with a 77 on the first day. At that point he was tied for ninth. He fell to a final finish of 17th place tie with an 83 in the second 18 holes. Joining him in that tie for 17th place was Steven Massey, who had rounds of 79 and 81.  

Matt Dail shot an 85 and an 83 and ended in 24th place. Bob Schaaf had an 89 in the first round, but made a seven stroke improvement in the second round for a 171. He took 27th place.

The team will compete next on October 16-17 at St. Ambrose University.
