Trolls Compete at CCAC Championship

The Trolls concluded their season at the CCAC Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. The 36 hole, two day event featured the 14 schools of the conference. Trinity struggled the first day and with a 334 team score were in 10th place. As a team they made a 15 stroke improvement in the second round and gained one place to finish in ninth overall.     

Steven Massey was the only player for the team to shoot in the 70s. In the first 18 holes he shot a 78 on the par 71 course and sat in a tie for 16th place of the 67 golfers. He was eight strokes behind first place. He improved his position in the second round with a 73 and moved up eight places to end in a tie for eighth place. Overall he finished nine strokes back from the medalist and only two strokes out of a top five finish.

After the first day Matt Dail and Alek Svabek were in a tie for 39th place with a score of 83. Dail recorded an 81 in the second round to move up to a 37th place tie. Svabek dropped a few places when he posted an 84 for 43rd.  

Jonathan Zandstra did not have a good first day with a 92, but he shot 11 strokes better on day two with an 81. He moved from a tie for 60th to a tie for 50th. The final golfer for the team was Jim Vos who posted scores of 90 and 93 to end in a tie for 59th place.
