Trolls Lose to No. 21 Tigers

The Trolls had a tough task in front of them as they hosted Olivet Nazarene University (Bourbonnais, Illinois), a team at the top of the conference standings and ranked No. 21 in the NAIA. The Trolls came out strong and held the lead through a majority of the first half. They fell behind in the final five minutes of the period and trailed 40-28 at the half. They could not recover the lead in the second period and ended in a 73-57 loss. The team is now 7-20 overall and 3-15 in the CCAC.

Trinity started the game with an 11-to-4 run to take over the lead. They continued to stay on top on the scoreboard until the final minutes of the period. With six minutes to play they had a 28-27 lead. However the Trolls did not score again in the half and the Tigers finished out with 13 points, putting Trinity in a 12 point, 40-28, deficit at the half.

For the most part the scoring difference remained in double digits during the second period. Trinity tried to gain ground, but Olivet Nazarene was .609 percent accurate from the floor in the half to hold the Trolls off.  With 7:45 left Trinity closed to within 10, but that was as close as they got and they eventually ended with a 16 point loss.

The Trolls shot .377 percent from the field, .250 percent from the arc, and .500 percent from the line. Olivet Nazarene was .600 percent from the floor, .462 percent from the three-point line, and .500 percent from the free throw line. Trinity had 30 rebounds and Olivet Nazarene had 36.
