Trolls Downed by Lakers

In their final game of the first semester the Trolls played in a conference contest at Roosevelt University (Chicago, Illinois).  The game was a struggle for the Trolls from the start as they never had the lead. In the opening minutes of the first half they fell behind by double digits and at the half they trailed 52-29. The scoring gap continued to increase in the second half and the Trolls took a 40 point loss at 97-57. The Trolls end their first semester of play with a 4-11 overall and 1-6 CCAC record.

The Trolls were out-scored 17-5 in the opening four minutes of the first half to fall behind by double digits. Midway through the period they were down by 13 at 36-23 until a 9-to-0 run by the Lakers over the next four minutes increased the scoring difference to 22 points. By the end of the half the Trolls trailed by 23 at 52-29.

Trinity could not gain any ground in the second half. With 16 minutes to play they were down by 18, but did not score for a four minute stretch and by that time were down by 32. The scoring gap remained at 30+ points for the rest of the game.  

The Trolls ended the game with a .364 field goal percentage, a .308 three-point percentage, and a .900 free throw percentage. Roosevelt shot .530 percent from the floor, .515 percent from the arc at 17-of-33, and .769 percent from the line. Trinity had 32 rebounds and committed 22 turnovers. The Lakers had 37 rebounds. Josh Decker led the team with 13 points and seven reounds. Myles Birgans and Vinko Glavan each added nine points. Terrance Lacey had six rebounds and six assists.  
 
The team takes a break from competition for a couple of weeks and will play again on January 2 at home against Indiana University-Northwest at 7:30 pm.
