Trolls Fall to Tigers

The Trolls played in a conference game at Olivet Nazarene University (Bourbonnais, Illinois). Through the first half of the game the Trolls and the Tigers remained within striking distance of each other. By the half Trinity trailed by eight points. Olivet Nazarene started to pull away in the second period, but the Trolls fought back. However, they did not have enough to take the lead and the Tigers took control in the final minutes for hand the Trolls the 85-68 loss. Trinity falls to 3-10 for the season and 0-5 in the CCAC.  

The teams battled back and forth in the first part of the game and 11 minutes into the period the Trolls held a three point lead. Olivet Nazarene went on a 11-to-0 run to take over the top spot which they held for the rest of the half. By the intermission the Trolls were down by eight at 46-38.  

The scoring gap remained within that eight points in the first five minutes of the second half. With 15 minutes to play the Tigers pulled ahead by 10 points and they stayed in that double digit lead for the next five minutes. The Trolls put up a 10 point run to cut the gap to four with eight minutes to play. However, Olivet Nazarene answered with the next eight points to go back ahead by double digits. The Trolls were not able to cut into that lead in the final five minutes as the Tigers pulled ahead for the 17 point difference at the buzzer.  

The Trolls ended the game with a .464 field goal percentage, a .333 three-point percentage, and a 1.000 free throw percentage (10-of-10). Olivet Nazarene shot .453 percent from the field, .269 percent from the arc, and .714 percent from the line (20-of-28). The Trolls had 31 rebounds and the Tigers had 36. Patrick Bray had 16 points, Vinko Glavan had 12, and Jalyn Clark added 10. Glavan also led the rebounding with seven.  Terrance Lacey ended the game with six points, five rebounds, and four assists.         

The team will play next in an exhibition game at Chicago State University on December 7 at 7 pm.
