Trolls Lose to Cardinal Stritch

In a conference game the Trolls traveled to play at Cardinal Stritch University (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). The team struggled to score on the offensive end and could not keep the Wolves in check defensively. With stretches of minimal scoring the Trolls fell behind by 16 at the half and ended with a 94-66 loss. The team falls to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in the CCAC.

It was a slow start for the Trolls as they only scored three points in the opening five minutes of the game and fell behind at double digits. Midway through the first half the trailed by 13. With a six point run the team closed to seven points at 28-21. However they scored only six points in the final seven minutes of the game and were down by 16 at the half, 43-27.

The Trolls’ shooting woes continued in the second half as they scored only three points in the first seven minutes and were down by 30 points, 59-29, at that time.  The team continued to trail by 20+ points for the rest of the game and ended with the 28 point loss.  

The Trolls shot .373 percent from the floor, .261 percent from the arc, and .588 percent from the line. The Wolves were .525 percent from the field, .455 percent from the three-point line, and .741 percent from the free throw line. The Trolls had 37 rebounds and Cardinal Stritch had 40 rebounds. Deontre DeYoung, Myles BIrgans, and Jared Jonkman each had 10 points. Josh Shannon ended with 10 rebounds. Birgans led the team with six assists.

The team will play in the Saint Xavier Classic on November 23-24.
