Trolls Drop Game to East West

For the second time this season the Trolls faced the Phantoms of East West University (Chicago, Illinois). This match-up was played on a neutral court at South Suburban College and was not as favorable for the Trolls as the first outing. Trinity had a two point lead at the half, but could not keep the top spot and narrowly missed out on a victory with a one point loss at 80-79. The Trolls are now 5-12 for the season.

The two teams battled back and forth for the entire game and kept each other in check. At the half Trinity had the slight advantage with a 34-32 lead.

The score continued to be tight in the second half. East West took over the top spot as they improved to a .577 field goal percentage in the period. They also were good from the free throw line where they added 12 points in the half. As a result the Trolls could not take over the lead and came up one point short of the win.

For the game the Trolls shot .484 percent from the floor, .400 percent from the arc, and .700 percent from the line. East West was .483 percent from the field, .429 percent from the three point line, and .625 percent from the free throw line. The Trolls took in 39 rebounds and the Phantoms had 29.  Caleb Jonkman led the team with 20 points and eight rebounds.  Nari Garrett added 15 points and seven boards and Juozas Balciunas had 15 points and six rebounds. Nate Hurt was also in double figure scoring with 11 points.

The Trolls will play in an exhibition game at the University of Illinois- Chicago on December 23 at 3 pm.
