Tyler Sroczynski Named CCAC Baseball Player of the Week

Senior right fielder Tyler Sroczynski (Dyer, Indiana) earned CCAC Baseball Player of the Week honors for April 2-7. In the five games of the week he helped the team to a 3-2 record in conference games and was the offensive leader.  For the week he batted .542, scored seven runs, and had five RBI.

Sroczynski’s .542 batting average performance came from 13 hits in 24 at bats. He had at least two hits in each of the five games, topped by both three and four hit contests in a sweep over Trinity International University. In that three-game series he was 9-for-15 at the plate with six runs, four doubles, four RBI, and eight stolen bases.  Overall for the week Sroczynski had a .875 slugging percentage which included five doubles and home run in his 13 hits.

Sroczynski leads the conference in runs per game (1.17), slugging percentage (.744), and stolen base average (0.78). He is second in batting average (.455) and in hit average (1.5), trailing only to teammate Kyle Kolb (.483 batting average and 1.7 hits per game).  In the NAIA Sroczynski ranks second in stolen base average and is seventh in batting average.
